Mary Richardson Walker1839-04-14Elkanah WalkerWe find our situation here very pleasant, still we shall welcome an invitation to return to our husbands & our homes. It is not difficult for a female to abandon a palace for a cottage if by so doing she can enjoy the society of a beloved companion. . . .Mrs. Eells is rather homesick. If she had a boy to engross her attention as much as mine does she would have less time to think of her husband. We have a good opportunity to acquire the language here if we do but improve it.
